PMI-ACP Exam Guide: Becoming a Certified Agile Practitioner

PMI-ACP is the broadest agile certification on the market: it covers Scrum, XP, Kanban, Lean and hybrid — instead of locking you into one framework.

Eligibility

2,000 hours of general project experience + 1,500 hours on agile teams + 21 hours of agile training.

Domains

  • Agile principles and mindset
  • Value-driven delivery
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Team performance
  • Adaptive planning
  • Problem detection and resolution
  • Continuous improvement

Study plan (5 weeks)

Weeks 1–2: agile principles + Scrum in depth. Week 3: Kanban, Lean, XP. Week 4: metrics, planning, retrospectives. Week 5: full mocks and weak-area review.

Exam tips

Answer scenarios from an agile-mindset perspective first — servant leadership, empirical process control, working software over documentation.

Recommended course

The PMI-ACP Complete Exam Prep course covers every domain with realistic scenarios.
